THE PAMPERED LAMB By Aleele Paago

“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. Ps 23:2a

Everything is provided for. That is why he boldly declares that he lacks or wants nothing. The newborn Christian comes to this realization that God has all it takes to handle all his challenges. He realizes that there is a provision for every vision.

Yet, this pampered lamb cannot differentiate between the poisonous herbs and the nutritious greens. It does not see the slithering snakes or dangerous caterpillars. It is not that they are absent, it is simply that the shepherd has taken care of these without the knowledge of the lamb. You have no idea how far God will go to give you rest at every phase of your life.  Every now and then  you must come back to this stage of your faith where you allow God to pamper you. Don’t feel guilty about it.  He is the Shepherd and you own Him.

However If your Christian experience has only been amongst the green pastures, then you are still a baby. If your Christian experience has only been about lying down, then you certainly have not met 10% of your life’s potential.

Notice that it is the Shepherd that makes the lamb lie down. The Shepherd pampers this lamb not to spoil it, but because it requires that period to learn from other lambs. Or just to rest from the intense battle or labor.

The sheep you learn from will determine the path you take in life. Who is your mentor? The quality of your rest will determine the output in your next endeavor.
