If you were carefully following this series, you’ll observe that it was centered on four key points. As I draw the curtain on this series, I’ll love to run a brief summary of the key points.
THE ALABASTER FLASK:
This represents our heart, which is the source of our love for God. Remember it has to be made pure and holy. You also need to guard it properly because it is precious.
OINTMENT OF PURE NARD:
This represents the nature of our love for God. Do not forget that it must be tall (greater and higher than the love you have for any other thing or person), perennial (stand the test of time), and sweet smelling (be done according to the acceptable way).
BREAKING AND POURING:
This is the mode of our love for God. You have to break your heart and leave it in God’s hands. Remember that loving God in part is as dangerous as not loving Him at all. So, love God in totality and with everything.
THE COST:
This is the price we pay to show how much we love God. Don’t forget, your love for God must cost you something. Borrow a leaf from David in 2 Sam. 24:24; “But the king replied to Araunah, ‘No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing’. So David paid him fifty pieces of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen” (NLT).
FINALLY
How much do you love God? How far can you go in expression of your love for God? Are you willing to pay the price involved in loving God?
Stay blessed.
